Tonight on The Edit, LENZO gets our ‘Waltzing Maltida’ on with our Australia Day Editorial, shot by the lovely Kassi from Hello Darling Photography.

The inspiration behind the shoot came from the idea of a classic Aussie BBQ, which we then of course injected some LENZO fun into. We shot at the beautiful St Kilda Venues, in both the Captain Baxter and Republica venues, and it was hard not to be distracted by the gorgeous view of the beach.

We went #BIG with flowers, and got the talented Lucie from Lulu Bird to LENZOfy everything with her use of stripped back flora. To add that extra Australian touch, Lucie came up with the idea to replace our usual glass vases with some iconic traditional Aussie jars – think Rosella, Vegemite, VB and Milo. Honestly, this is such an easy trick that you can incorporate into your own event, and is a cool way to show off your inner patriotism!

To finish off our decorations, we included some foil 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie' Belle Balloons and some LENZOfyed tassles from DD Brand. We also grabbed a few bits and pieces from partyware queen Ruby Rabbit to finish off the look.

Since it was a BBQ, we had to get our good mates from The Snag Society on board, who cooked up some of their gourmet sausages for us. These guys are the perfect food cart to have at your next party.  They are not only #DELICIOUS but also super easy to eat, and if you are lucky, you may even catch them at one of their local market visits!  Their menu is extensive and can cater for any theme or cuisine type!

We also had some 'Aussie Favourites' prepped by the team at St Kilda Venues, and they were easily the best lamb ribs we have ever munched on at 9am… Okay, maybe the only, but trust us, they were #THAT good! And those cocktails?! Say hi to the 'Lady Lamington' and 'Southside Pav'.  These were curated specifically for the occasion and will be available through Captain Baxter this Australia Day.

We also indulged in Veuve Clicquot Rich, a champagne that can be mixed with fabulous fruits then poured over ice to be the most refreshing and #onpoint drink of the summer season.

For desserts, Instagram up-comer Raymond Tan helped us out with this showstopper of a cake. He was inspired by the different elements of a pavlova and then infused our burnt orange colour palette within - #GENIUS! We then topped his cake with the cutest customised À La Roch cake topper, which we then also used to spice up our supply of Golden Gaytimes and Drumsticks - also known as the life savers of a hot summers BBQ.

Our model Steph got her retro on with Keepsake’s latest collection. How cute are those cullotes, and that jumpsuit?! #LOVE! To finish each look, we decided to go with a different headpiece - a 66 the Label hat in one and a original Lulu Bird flower crown for the other. We also have to give a special shout out to Holly Harnwell our makeup artist, who honestly was one of the loveliest people we have ever met!

So Aussie, Aussie, Aussie….
