Ivy & Bleu style a classic wedding at Ancora
One gorgeous white gown. A sit-down three-course dinner. Floral centrepieces and calligraphy stationery. For couples looking to achieve a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic on their wedding day, this classic wedding style from Ivy & Bleu is the way to go…
The inspiration behind the shoot came from the Creative Director herself, who was regularly asked what her big day would look like if she were to get married again. Using elements that will stand the test of time, Mandi created an event that was the epitome of everything she loved – from each individually handpicked vendor through to the soft combination of blush blooms and the fresh waterside venue, each styling element was a reflection of her personal taste (and might we just add, her taste is #IMPECCABLE!)
And who’s that gorgeous bride? Why, it’s none other than the Creative Director of Ivy & Bleu Events herself: Mandi, who is looking breathtaking in George Wu Couture!
Shot at Ancora on the Tweed Coast by Kaitlin Marie Photography, this styled wedding editorial is the perfect blend of romantic + classic, with a tiny edge of modern thrown in for good measure. Check out these images below to be inspired to create your own classically romantic wedding…
Of course, it’s just not a wedding without fresh flowers! These delicate blooms are supplied by Ivy & Bleu (who else!?) and add the finishing touches to any setting.
Mandi tells us that the introduction of latticing was a textural detail and not something that Ivy & Bleu had seen before. Since this shoot was released, the enquiry into lattice details has been phenomenal, and they loved it so much that they brought it through all their 2019 marketing and expos for brand recognition.
The unique lattice element can be seen incorporated into the hanging floral installation and used as a stunning backdrop against the cake and neon signage.
And let’s take a look at that gorgeous three-tier jewel cake by LENZO suppliers, The Cake that Ate Paris. Keeping it simple is key when it comes to traditional weddings, and a subtle decorative accent in the form of a flower is all that’s needed to make this cake pop ever so slightly.
Looking to add a modern twist to your classic wedding? Hire a bar cart and serve up a signature drink to your guests! We love this ink gin choice that features a distinctive purple colour!
LENZO loves a party tip – what did Ivy & Bleu share with us?
“Hire a stylist or planner that you feel gets you! Planning a wedding or event is such a personal journey and you really want to ensure you aren’t just following a “trend” but creating something that is uniquely you! I think looking for suppliers is like looking for a pair of shoes. We all have different things we are looking for, so make sure you stalk their Instagram, get to know their business, and make sure you envision them being a part of creating your day.”
Love, LENZO x
