A fun and colourful idea for your kid’s next party...
With our Founding Director recently hosting a bath bomb party for her daughter Annie’s 7th birthday, we’re noticing more and more children are celebrating their birthday with an arts and crafts theme.
This fun-filled event that we are featuring today was created by none other than Zayna Fratto Wedding & Events for her daughter Amelia’s 5th birthday.
Zayna told us that Amelia’s love for painting, colouring in, and ‘anything creative’ was her inspiration for this event styling. In fact, the concept started when she took Amelia into the studio and asked her to pick her favourite balloon colours – from there, bright and bold colours blossomed into the palette of choice.
The entire set up was intentionally styled at children’s height as Zayna wanted the party to be about them. Zayna also wanted the guests to feel like they were at an arts and crafts supercentre and not just a party, so separate stations were set up for the many different activities, which were:
- Paint Your Own Cookie made by Vivalicious
- Shimmy Shakers inspired by Bangin Hangins
- Crown Decorating
- Bracelet and Necklace Making
- Nail salon with nail polish from Lanvi Kids
- Colouring in table artwork
Each exciting activity was allocated a specific amount of time and completed as a group to ensure a seamless transition from each activity.
Personalisation is such a huge deal in the events world, and Zayna was able to incorporate this trend in Amelia’s birthday with unique party favours. Each party guest received a take home box, which included:
- Nail polish from Lanvi Kids
- A crown necklace from Kiki Sprinkles
- Custom mini pencils from Zayna Fratto
- Custom aprons by Zayna Fratto
- A handful of sweet treats!
We absolutely #LOVE the idea of personalised aprons (made by Zayna herself - is there anything she can't do!?), which had each guest’s name emblazoned on the front. Each child was given their apron before getting creative ... and we were told they kept them on long after they didn't need to anymore (and why would you take them off? It’s rare that you get to enjoy the party favours whilst at the party!)
And can we take a moment to look at those delicious desserts and cake, baked in the arts and crafts theme? Too cool!
LENZO loves a party tip – what is Zayna’s?
Zayna tells us:
“Rather than select a theme for your child’s party based on trends, pick something that is awesome to them! Something they love, something that will excite them on the day, something that will resonate with you when you look back at their birthday pictures. The years pass and with each year their interests change: celebrate those interests!”
We love this idea, and it’s a great reminder that as your little one turns a year older, all they really want to do is to celebrate doing something they love!
Now, this is the face of a very delighted and lucky little girl! Happy birthday, Amelia!
Love, LENZO x
