Tonight on The Edit, we bring you a fresh take on a traditional event, with Bess' bright and bookish Baby Shower.
The event was styled and managed by Burnt Butter, a Melbourne sweets company that is joining the realm of event hire and supplies in the new year - #EXCITING! They made sure to carefully curate the day to reflect mum to be Bess, and what came out was the beautifully bright + stylish concept, based around the beauty of a great read. Their aim was to make Bess feel special and celebrated as she was carrying the first baby of her family, and they surely fit this criteria!
The Burnt Butter team of course created the #SweetTreats for the day and our stomachs are grumbling for those fruity donuts and lemon and raspberry macarons - #YUM! And can we please just have a moment for the deconstructed croquembouche?! We are in a #SugarHeaven!!! All the sweets were perfectly placed upon cake stands also from Burnt Butter, which we are sure were quickly emptied as the event dwindled on!
The decorations matched the pastel palette of the desserts perfectly, and we even spy with our little eye some too cute stationery by LENZO favourite Love JK, who joined forces with the Burnt Butter team to create the gorgeous "And then there were three.." cookies!
Photography was by the amazing team at My Little Tribe, who we too have had the honour of working with, and they really made the bright colours and bold textures #POP that were spotted in everything from The Party Parlour decorations + lollies, to the intricately cut Merc and Jones cake topper! We also really love the use of a simple white table to add a touch of simplicity to the mix, and this Mini Party People version is perfect for your next big event!
One thing that really stood out to us with this baby shower was that instead of opting for gifts, Bess asked guests to bring along one of their favourite bed time stories that they would then add to their growing nursery collection. Not only is this such a sweet idea, but also meant that the book theme carried out into absolutely everything!
When chatting to Lisa from Burnt Butter about the day, she said it was so magical seeing the pride of Bess' family and how excited they all were for her to soon be expanding her family. Lisa even shared with us her top tip to make you a style queen:
When setting up in a venue, sketch a diagram of how you will lay out your table or better yet set it up at home and take a photo. It will save you hours and stress on the day. Still want more? Burnt Butter open their fresh concept store on January 12th, and let's just say we are more than excited!
