LENZO shares the latest wedding beauty trends to watch out for in 2018
Just like a wedding gown, bridal hair and makeup trends are always changing with the times. This year alone, we’ve seen everything from Meghan Markle’s elevated yet natural bridal makeup look with a low bun through to extravagant hair and makeup styles by the ‘Married at First Sight’ clan (and we’re not just talking about the ladies!)
So, LENZO has forecasted the 7 biggest and best hair & makeup trends to hit 2018 for all brides-to-be across Australia. Check them out below and get inspired!
1. Bridal makeup trend: All natural
Since the royal wedding, we’re noticing more and more brides are taking a page from Meghan Markle’s book and opting for a more natural style. Meghan’s signature freckles shone through with the use of a natural, dewy-looking foundation base to her marriage to Prince Harry. So, don’t be afraid to stick with earthy tones and leave the red lipstick behind.

2. Bridal makeup trend: glossy lips
Speaking of lipstick, brides are abandoning the satin finishes + matte lips and instead opting for lip gloss. Whether you’re opting for minimal makeup or something bolder, glossy lips in light shades of pink or peach add a youthful appeal, and most importantly, won’t stain your lips throughout the day.

3. Bridal makeup trend: smoky eyes
Keep it simple yet modern by complementing a beautiful complexion with smoky eyes. Avoid that heavy, panda-eye look and choose a delicate hue over the lids, such as different shades of plum or pink. Don’t forget to pair with super long lashes!

4. Bridal hair trend: Wavy hair
Whether it’s in a ponytail or hair down, wavy tresses are still a popular wedding hair style. Tousled, textured, or tight - you can achieve an effortlessly romantic or glam look just by the way your hair falls.

5. Bridal hair trend: Low bun
You can thank Meghan Markle for this one – an understated low bun is the perfect way to show off a low-back wedding gown. Want to match a vintage makeup look? Ask for a twisted style, instead of curling it or pulling it into an updo.

If luxe crowns and tiaras are more your style, you can definitely still wear these bridal hair pieces in 2018. Pair with your wedding hair down or up: either way, you’ll exude a look perfectly suited for royalty!

7. Bridal beauty trend: fake it till you make it
Want that bronzed look that looks as if you’ve just been kissed by the sun in Santorini? The secret is to get a spray tan! Complementing your white wedding gown with a believable glow is a great way to feel even more confident in your own skin as you walk down that aisle. Just be sure to run a test patch a few weeks prior to your wedding day to get the colour you want!

Hot tip: On your wedding day, you should be the best version of you, so if you don’t usually wear red lipstick – then don’t start! Similarly, if you’re used to being all glammed up, you don’t need to go with a natural look on your wedding day. It all comes down to what’s most comfortable for you: after all, that’s why there’s hair and makeup trials!
(Of course, the best look that you can wear will be that beautiful bridal glow + smile that can only come from marrying the man of your dreams!)
