Sometimes we wish we could go back to a time when parties were #simpler, filled with wholesome food, homemade sweet treats and decorations that didn't break the bank... That is the exact reason why we are loving the fact that the catering geniuses from Damm Fine Food have provided us with the #PERFECT Toffee Apple recipe  - allowing us to enjoy the sweet simplicity one more time.

We love this treat so much, it was featured in our recentWitchery Girl & Boy shoo t, which you can check out more of here. With that, we hope you enjoy cooking up a storm with these bad boys for your next event, as it is truly the greatest combination - a fruity #CRUNCH contrasted with a sugary #CRACKLE!.

And remember what they say; a toffee apple a day, keeps the cravings away!

Love LENZO x

  • 10 Small red apples (washed and no stalks)
  • 3 Cups of caster sugar
  • 3/4 Cup of warm water
  • 1/4 Cup of liquid glucose
  • 1 Teaspoon of white vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon of red food colouring (or another colour if preferred)
  • 1 Cup of sprinkles of your choice

  • Wooden sticks or skewers
  • Large baking tray lined with baking paper
  • Cup or glass of cold water
  • Medium sized saucepan (preferably heavy bottom)
  • Tea spoon for toffee testing

STEP ONE: Ensure apples are room temperature, washed + stalks removed. Insert the wooden sticks halfway into the apples

STEP TWO: Pour warm water, caster sugar, liquid glucose and vinegar into the saucepan. Stir all the ingredience over a low heat until everything had dissolve. Make sure you don't boil the toffee!

STEP THREE: Next, turn the heat up to high + boil the liquid for 10-15 minutes or until a light golden brown – don't stir it here!

STEP FOUR: Take a teaspoon of the liquid toffee + drizzle it into the cup of cold water - if the toffee forms a hard strand or a ball the mixture is ready!! ...if not cook it for a little longer and try again!

STEP FIVE: Take the toffee off the heat, add the food colouring and stir with a spare wooden stick or skewer.

STEP SIX: Wait for the liquid to stop boiling, then it's the fun bit! Dip the apples into the toffee, coating them all the way around (LENZO says the more toffee the #yummier!). After letting any excess drain off the apple, place apples onto the baking tray and decorate each apple with #sprinkles.

STEP SEVEN: Wait for the apples to cool and dig in! #ENJOY!
