DIY ICE BUCKET

November 22, 2015
DIY ICE BUCKET

The warmer weather is finally coming, and we are always looking for ways to keep our summer gatherings fresh + innovative. And now you can too with our tips on how to create a gorgeous ice bucket to keep your champagne cool and your party super stylish.  We were totally inspired by #that ice bucket by Sugar + Charm... if you don't know the one we are referencing, you must check out theirInstagram feed!!

We shot these with a LENZO #fave photographer Madeleine Chiller, creating two different variants - something we recommend, as the job is quite fiddly... so a back up is a good idea!  It's also a great opportunity to be creative.  We went bold and colourful with one look, using beautiful berry red rananculus, raspberry and mint and the second look was #whitechristmas, using sparkles, foil and white flowers.  There was definitely a sigh of appreciation when these pretties were revealed.

Happy Christmas Crafternooning!

METHOD

STEP ONE: Firstly, fill the larger bucket with approximately 3 inches of water and put in the freezer. This will be the bottom of your ice bucket.

STEP TWO: Once this is frozen, place the smaller bucket inside and to make sure it doesn't float, fill it with rocks, fruit or any other heavy items to weight it.

STEP THREE: Now fill this outer layer (between the two buckets) with water and begin to decorate! We used flowers, glitter and confetti - but get creative!! Place it in the freezer overnight to ensure that it sets!

STEP THREE: To remove the ice bucket, fill the smaller bucket with warm water and let it sit. Pour it out and then run water around the outside of the bucket. It will eventually loosen and slide out.
