If you want to get your creative juices flowing, this 9th birthday party of Lily's will get them racing (and racing fast)!
Shot and styled by Adelaide Mum of 3, Claire (@clairecollected) - who has a serious eye for interiors, and a talent for shooting them! If you want to beat a trend, Claire is a must follow on Instagram and we are huge fans of her Blog.
And I think by now it's pretty obvious what today's inspiration was??? Claire tells us "My daughter loves watermelons. She collects watermelon toys, clothing, decor, so we thought why not throw her a watermelon party for her 9th birthday". And it totally helps that this is perhaps one of the hottest party trends of the year (nice choice Lily)!
"We had lots of fun with the theme. The highlight from the day would have to be our DIY tasks, painting our old converse into watermelons, making fruit slice umbrellas, and of course making our own DIY watermelon pinata. Continuing with the crafty theme the girls also painted their own watermelon inspired T-shirts at the party. This was the BEST activity for their age group and kept them occupied for over an hour. Their creativity was amazing."
And who needs cake, when you have melon??? The original 'melonesque' cake was cleverly crafted by 'Create Me Cake'.
"We love a tip at LENZO, so what is Claire's? "Plan in advance. Not something I'm particularly good at. Every party I think I'll be more organised but I never am. Also, look at what things you can make yourselves to cut costs. Making the pinata, T-shirts, shoes was a really fun activity with the kids, and also looked more effective than shop bought items on the day we thought!"
