Celebrate Easter differently this year
Baby chicks. Fluffy rabbits. And lots of eggs! One of our favourite holidays of the year is arriving, and we couldn’t be more excited! The Easter Bunny is on his way, and LENZO is looking forward to having an excuse to indulge, take part in Easter egg hunts, and spend time with our families this April 1.
If you’ve got little ones, why not try something different this year and create an outdoor Easter Eggstravaganza? With the help of superstar photographer Kas Richards and numerous suppliers, we were able to set up an Easter celebration that features all the essentials: healthy treats, bunny ears, and fun DIY crafts that children of all ages can enjoy! Read on to find out how you can recreate this alfresco Easter wonderland in your own backyard.
Outdoor Easter Garden Party at Tussie Mussie Vineyard
Anywhere that features lush greenery and vast open space is the perfect setting for your outdoor Easter party. The greener, the better (which also ties in with our ‘healthy eating’ theme du jour!)
We hosted our Easter picnic outdoors at Tussie Mussie, a charming vineyard retreat on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. The green landscape was the ideal backdrop against our chosen Easter colours of pastel pinks, blues, oranges and yellows, which we incorporated in the furniture, decorations, and even desserts.
It's All In The Little Details - Furniture and Props
One of the often overlooked pieces at any party is the table settings, but without these embellishments, the space looks empty. Caroline from Hirestyle envisions a project from the big picture down to the smallest details – and the result is a perfectly set up picnic table. From the delicate porcelain trinkets to the bunny statuettes positioned in between each place setting as well as the balloon installation, it’s these little details that make this Easter party that much more magical.
Healthy (and Yummy) Easter Treats
Who says Easter needs to be all about chocolate!? While we won’t say no to a slice (or two!), we do know that treating yourself is A-OK in small doses. When you’re looking for a healthier alternative for your DIY desserts, here’s a few things we learnt from baking goddess Bride & Stork, who baked these cakes + cookies for us:
Substitute sugar for honey or apple sauce, and try wholemeal Spelt flour for those sensitive to gluten. Cinnamon and nutmeg are also two spices that help bring a sweet taste to any dessert. And where possible, include fruit as your Easter cake decoration!
And for those die-hard #CHOCOHOLICS? Bride & Stork says:
“While there’s no substitute for chocolate, you can definitely make your desserts healthier with the right ingredients.”
We definitely agree, which is why we love the idea of dipping carrots in chocolate icing – it’s the best of both worlds! Even the kids were bursting with impatience to try these snacks!
And, if you’re looking for ways to reduce the amount of sugar consumed through each drink, try a milk-flavouring Sipahh straw. With less than ½ teaspoon of sugar per straw, it’s a clever way to make your kids drink more milk – and enjoy it! And for those who are unable to enjoy dairy due to allergies, Sipahh straws are just as delicious with milk alternatives.
In between doing fun Easter crafts (keep your eyes peeled for a DIY on how to create those cute Sipahh milk jars with Easter bunny ears!), it’s a good idea to put snacks out for the kids. Cobs popcorn is a popular option, due to its low-calorie and high-fibre content. You can also put nuts, granola bites, and dried strawberries in these too-cute bunny platters. The kids were able to amuse themselves with playdough + Easter cookie cutters from Happy Hands Happy Heart as they munched on these healthier snack options.

Pastel Bunny-ful Touches: Balloons and Partyware
What’s a party without balloons?! We love this gigantic balloon installation by Belle Balloons, who also managed to add a cute twist by turning some of the balloons into bunny faces!
For Easter table decorations, choose napkins and small plates that match the balloon palette to help bring the whole theme together. We think this partyware from Palm & Pine Party Co is just perfect.
Want to do a traditional Easter egg hunt? You’ll love these gorgeous metal baskets from Hirestyle that the little ones will be able to carry with them as they search for hidden treasures!
What to Wear: Seed Easter Range 2018
And of course, you can’t attend an Easter party dressed in something old (as if LENZO needs an excuse to go shopping and dress up!) We’re #INLOVE with these adorable little boys’ and girls’ outfits, shoes + accessories from Seed Heritage.
How are you celebrating this Easter? If you’re looking to host a kids Easter party, it’s not too late to talk to the party planners at LENZO. We’d be happy to help – enquire now!
