Urban vibes + luxe blooms for the fun and modern couple
LENZO and weddings: they go together like, well, Kanye & Kanye. So, you know this wedding editorial we recently styled will be off the charts (just like all of Kanye's albums.)
We invite you to celebrate a special occasion with LENZO. Mind your feet on the custom-printed steps, admire the gorgeous flowers on the right, and take a sharp left to walk out on the terrace, where you’ll set your eyes on the prettiest rooftop wedding of 2019!
For this month’s editorial, we were moved by sophisticated yet on-trend styling elements, which helped create an overall mood + theme that was a little more contemporary than a minimalist modern wedding. From the acrylic and paper stationery to the neon sign and shared food platters, this sophisticated wedding is anything but understated and traditional.
Captured by long-standing LENZO photographer Kas Richards and held at the beautiful Prince Deck, the light-filled indoor space provided the perfect blank canvas in which we incorporated a luxe aesthetic.
Our bride Anna looked the part in stunning hair and makeup by artist Carla Dyson (and wait until you see the final looks when our bride is all glammed up in not one but two Georgia Young Couture gowns! Talk about spoiled for choice!)
We started the party on the rooftop terrace, with an outdoor bar station set up by Dann Event Hire that overlooked panoramic views of Melbourne City and Port Philip Bay. There’s no better feeling than enjoying a cheeky cocktail on a warm, balmy evening in Melbourne, and with summer leaving us so swiftly, we wanted to evoke this feeling one last time. Mint & Mingle provided the pink spritz cocktails that were the perfect companion to the Prince Deck’s bespoke menus.
Gorgeous blooms by Stasia Fox Flowers & Events in baby blue, white, and subtle pink cascaded over one edge of the bar, and was accompanied by pillar candles placed inside bevelled edge boxes by The Hire Co to add a luxe effect.
Don’t you just love a good frosted acrylic drinks menu? We sure do! And, don’t forget to tie your stationery in together: throughout the shoot, we incorporated a matching acrylic cake topper to the drink stirrers and coasters to help connect the theme together.
Don’t be afraid to add layering colours and textures – in addition to the acrylic stationery, we also incorporated Papier’s sleek and contemporary designs into the invitations and place settings, which provided a subtle contrast.
Can we just take a look at that bouquet again? #GORGEOUS. The sprayed twigs add a contrasting yet modern touch to the soft floral palette, don’t you think?
We set an intimate tablescape that was jointly crafted by The Hire Co’s crystal glassware and matte black cutlery, boutique designed plateware from new lifestyle brand In The Roundhouse, Pickawall’s white table decal, and the stunning burst of florals in the centre by Stasia Fox.
Our mouths are watering just looking at the delicious array of food platters! (We’ll take a dozen oysters, thank you - yum!)
And check out the desserts!
Don’t you think our bride looks stunning in this Georgia Young Couture gown? The frock was completed with a huge diamond ring from Cassandra Mamone. #BLINGBLING, indeed!
We then carried our wedding celebrations indoors where we were met with a dress change for the bride, a gorgeous dance floor decal by Pickawall, and a custom ‘loving you is yeezy’ neon sign from Neon Collective.
A dance floor decal is a great way to truly personalise your event, and needless to say, lets your guests know where to start dancing the night away! Shoes optional. (But you won't want to take off these oh-so-comfortable and stylish shoes from Bared Footwear).
How on-trend are these cocktail stirrers with the couple’s initials etched onto it? Sketch and Etch, you can do no wrong!
We also managed to incorporate a little bit of the romance of Italy (because why not?) into our urban wedding vibes: how cute is this Vespa as the ‘wedding getaway’ car? #SOCHIC!
Do you mind if we get a close-up of that Georgia Young Couture wedding gown and Cassandra Mamone ring? #TODIEFOR
We just don’t know where to look: the florals are blindingly gorgeous!
Of course, the main event of any wedding is the cake itself. This towering beauty was baked with love by My Cake Studio. The personalised acrylic cake topper is the perfect proverbial cherry on the top!
Of course, it’s not a wedding without a grand gesture of appreciation for the bridal party. Sitting pretty on the latest furniture collection from Dann Event Hire, our bride relaxed and reclined before being indulged by a luxe personalised gift hamper from Bridesmaid Boxes.
For all the dancing brides out there: these shoes by Bared Footwear are not only super comfortable, but they look gorgeous too! (We don’t think they should be covered up, either!)
And our bride wasn’t the only one who got spoiled – she didn’t forget to thank her flower girl….
…or her bridesmaids…
… or her groom!
