Brooke’s kids’ birthdays fall two weeks apart so she decided to combine a ‘close friends and family’ party in the outdoors.
Sydney’s recent torrential wet weather meant the party was re-located from the local art gallery to Brooke's soon to be demolished family home!
As the director of 'Piccolo Studio', Brooke has a pretty substantial stash of party supplies collected over the years in her business. “I had the idea five minutes before our guests arrived to scatter some of the Knot and Bow confetti that I sell in my store all over the floor. It did a great job of hiding the heavily worn carpet and the kids loved playing with it too. I had already ordered some helium balloons and the HOORAY balloons on sticks from 'House of Party'. I filled gaps on the table with pops of colour from the 'Poppies for Grace' treat bags, teamed with some gold glitter tinsel ribbon and name tags I made.”
Decorating was pretty easy given that she could hammer nails into wherever her little heart desired.
There was a second trestle table that was laden with the savoury food and two drinks dispensers and framed by giant 'on-trend' foil balloons from 'House of Party'.
Two birthdays + Two tables = Two beautiful 'Paper and Poppies' birthday cakes. Delicious!
“All in all it was a great party, I was more relaxed leading up to it than previous years as it was so thrown together and I didn’t feel any pressure, after all it was meant to just be a morning tea picnic in the park!”
