LENZO gets up close and personal with the #PROPOSALQUEEN
Addicted to bespoke gifts? The motivated Alana from Bridesmaid Boxes has dropped into LENZO to talk about the best way to propose to your #BRIDESQUAD… and why she won’t dance the Nutbush at parties!
Can’t imagine saying ‘I do’ without your crew? Neither can we. Thankfully, there’s a way to spoil your entire bridal party (groomsmen included!) in a super luxe way…
Today, we party with Bridesmaid Boxes. Get to know the woman who is singlehandedly - literally and figuratively! - helping your bridesmaids say “yes” to walking down the aisle with you, and thanking them afterwards….
Besides my own, my favourite Instagram account is … I don’t want to be biased, however partywithlenzo is definitely the most attractive account. There is always something fun and exciting going on! Otherwise my feed is a hot mess between kids clothing, home designs and weddings (haha). Regarding bridal accounts that pop up on my feed, I’m obsessed with onedaybridal, thefauxfernery for florals, and theweddingshed for styling.
I never leave the house without … my keep cup for my daily coffee. I’m on an environmental streak at the moment – the aim is less bubble wrap (cringe!), but if I can remove a year’s worth of takeaway cups from the world, it’s a good start!
I want my Instagram profile to make people feel … warm and welcome, which is why I aim to use light and soft imagery but I try to keep it personal, too! There is a person behind the brand – not just generic images.
Growing up, my dream career was … to be a photographer! I still LOVE it! I’m always taking snaps of my products. A lot of the photos of my products on my Insta feed are my own. Some good; some bad!
My dream holiday destination is … anywhere with a beach, sun and cocktails. However, I’m leaning towards Bali, because I have two young kids and there are nannies there, so I can actually stop and relax!
When I’m at a party, the first thing I notice is … the decorations/style of the venue.
The one song that gets me on the dance floor is … hmm, it doesn’t take me much: after a glass of confidence, I’ll dance to anything except the Nutbush. Just no.
My number one party tip is … enjoy the food, and drink a-plenty!
My party decoration must-have is … mood lighting and flowers (I can’t just choose one!)
My favourite cake flavour is … anything with buttercream (#DELISH).
The day after the party, I want to be remembered as the one who … got Best on Ground of course! It’s rare for me nowadays – I always have this strange recollection around 10.30pm that I have kids who wake up at 7am. Most times, it gets the better of me.
If I could describe my brand in three words, they would be … thoughtful, quality product.
The inspiration behind starting my business came from … my background in wedding invitations. I had a thought to sell just one proposal hamper, and the idea just grew enough so that I dropped the invitations altogether.
The biggest misconception about my job is … firstly, that I have a team behind me. Not correct: I’m a one-woman show! And secondly, what it entails! Friends walk in and are shocked at the amount of stock and boxes I have lying around. It can also be very laborious… but I love it!
The most fun part of my job is … creating and updating new products. I’m constantly improving my products.
The best advice I can give someone wanting to start their own business is … be prepared to be patient and work hard! Success will happen; it might not be straight away but if you offer a worthy service to your potential customers, you will find yourself growing and growing by the month!
My business is unique because … I’d say it’s mainly because of my timber hampers! I also offer products for the entire bridal party. Personalisation is available on most products, and I use the best quality products I can get a hold of!
Thanks for stopping by, Alana! x
