Today on The Edit, LENZO brings you something super sweet and delicious to treat yourself with. It’s the creative #GIRLBOSS from Deliciously Yours, who makes, bakes and creates cake's that are #AMAZING, as well as matching stationery. Here Carol shares her journey, party tips and those must have essential's to a fun and successful night out:

Introduce yourself and Deliciously Yours.

I am a mum of 2 beautiful boys, corporate lawyer and cake decorator living out my dream. Deliciously Yours was born after many years of practising my skill on my family and close friends. Cake decorating is an art form and I am so lucky that my clients let me explore new ideas when creating their dream cake.

Why did you start Deliciously Yours?

It all started by accident! A friend of mine gifted me a cake decorating book for my birthday. I had never even heard of fondant or ganache at this stage. I first attempted a cake for my son’s 2nd birthday and fell in love with the whole process – perfecting the baking and each of the recipes, hand colouring fondant, mastering ganache – and above all, the designing! I kept practicing on family and friends until I felt comfortable that my work was up to scratch. And so, deliciously yours was born. I was an art student and really missed using my creative side and so deliciously yours has given me the most amazing opportunity to keep using my creative side. I launched my stationery range earlier this year. I love planning parties for my own family and friends and love the idea of a theme for a party - and it all starts with the invitation. I love teaming my invitations with a unique cake and party favours, thank you cards or back drop (I'm crazy about this stuff!).

What gap in the party market does Deliciously Yours fill?

A combined approach to cakes and stationery for milestone events. The concept is simple – cakes and matching stationery. I also LOVE teaching so I launched Baked! – a delicious blog dedicated to the DIY baker. I also wrote a cake decorating book especially for the DIY baker. It’s available on Amazon but I’d love to offer it to your gorgeous followers for free here.

Why should Deliciously Yours be invited to a party?

I am LOADS of fun and I can dance (sort of)! My concepts are fun and elegant (if that makes sense). My baked goodies are soooooo tasty. I make everything from scratch – no packet mixes, no pre-bought cakes or cookie dough!

What do you find captivating about the world of events?

Sounds corny but it’s true – sharing that special part of someone’s life by creating their cake or cake + matching stationery. For eg, I created the wedding cake, baby shower cake and also the first birthday cake for a client of mine. I have been part of her world for many milestones in her life and that’s unique in any profession or trade.

Who are your go-to suppliers?

Cake decorating stores and florists and I LOVE my printer! Snap Printing at Lane Cover

What is your go-to party tip?

Plan! Plan! Plan! Take time to plan your theme, your invitation, your food and styling. It makes the world of difference and makes you feel a little in control (even when you are not). Most importantly, enjoy the day and your special event. Take a second to look around and take it all in!

What is in your party purse?

Lipstick, My phone, sticky tape, and sometimes, my emergency cake decorating kit! Just in case of mishaps.

You are hosting a dinner party and you can only invite three guests – dead or alive. Who are they?

Gabriel Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso and Camilla Franks. The most influential artists in my world.

What is your go-to party outfit?

Easy – standard black dress! Actually, sometimes it’s pink too!
