The epic way to top your NERF cake with Poppies For Grace
What’s the one thing every NERF superfan will be expecting? A super cool cake … featuring its own dart targets!
See how easy it is to create NERF target cake toppers with Poppies For Grace in this DIY video, or follow our simple step-by-step guide below!
What you will need:
Grey lead pencil
Orange coloured crepe paper
Shiny silver cardboard
Step 1: Cut down your cardboard tube to be the correct height for a barrel target.
Step 2: Trace around the circumference of the cardboard tube with grey lead pencil onto the silver cardboard, shiny side down.
Step 3: Cut out a circle, leaving at least half a cm of bleed around your tracing.
Step 4: Cut a fringe around the circle, to the pencil line. This makes tabs to attach to your cardboard tube.
Step 5: Attach to the top of the tube using double-sided tape.
Step 6: Cover tabs with another piece of double-sided tape.
Step 7: Run lengths of double-sided tape down the tube. Cover in orange crepe paper, to ensure the cardboard tube does not show through.
Step 8: Cut a long 1cm strip of crepe paper and fold over a few times. Taking scissors, cut along the edge to make fringing. Unravel!
Step 9: Starting at the base of the tube, wrap the crepe paper fringing around the barrel until you have reached the top of the tube.
Step 10: Cut out your target print-out and stick onto the fringed barrel using double-sided tape. Voila!
