A fresh and fun birthday party theme for a tween
'Teenager’ and ‘party.’ Two words that, when put together, seem to strike dread in the hearts of just about any parent. However, LENZO recently styled a tween party for three best friends at The Estate Trentham and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Shot by photographer extraordinaire Bianca Virtue, and featuring an all-star cast of LENZO faves, including Flowers by Brett Matthew John, Sketch & Etch Creative, Design My Party, Shutterhub, Place Settings, The Sweet Event Cupcakes, Pickawall, Springfree Trampoline, Little Pineapple Neon, and Boutique Balloons, this is one fresh and fun tween party theme that we think will be super popular in the following months – just in time for summer!
We wanted to keep this editorial light and fresh, so what better colour to hero than lemon? Reminiscent of lazy summer days, we infused this citrus hue into everything, from the furniture to the partyware, decals, desserts, and decorations.
Lemon was the perfect contrast to Seed Heritage's latest teen range for ages 8-16 in which the girls were dressed in (I mean, was there really any other choice when it comes to tween fashion?) From navy blue pieces to denim jackets and hats, as well as white overalls and spotted dresses, we predict there'll be a lot of tweens ready for the runway these school holidays! Of course, the whole look was completed with Makeup by Amelia Webb.
HIRE: deck chairs
When it comes to unique tween party entertainment, you really can’t go wrong with a trampoline – especially one with a detachable basketball net! As the latest members to join the LENZO family, we're loving Springfree Trampolines and the endless fun they provided these tweens at our editorial. BRB as we take a minute (or ten!) for our turn to jump around on this amazing trampoline!
The fun didn’t stop there: the girls were also entertained with a photo booth from Shutterhub! A photo booth at a tween birthday party is a big hit (and let’s be honest: it’s a big hit at any party!) The girls had a blast posing for photos outside with real sunflowers (supplied by Flowers by Brett Matthew John) and an acrylic #HIPHIPHOORAY sign (from Sketch and Etch Creative).
HIRE: open air photo booth
Famished at this point, we set up an indoor picnic for the girls, in which they indulged in delicious desserts courtesy of The Sweet Event Cupcakes.
BUY: party desserts
We especially love the sunflower detailing on all the desserts! What a great way to bring the outdoors inside! #SOCUTE.
And check out the gorgeous partyware from Design My Party. From the polka dot napkins to those white gold daisy paper plates placed on top of the lemon plates, everything just screamed summer!
Of course, the whole place was looking fresh as - well, summer! - with more of Flowers by Brett Matthew John florals lining the picnic area and space. They even created gorgeous flower crowns for the girls to wear!
And yes, we know you spotted that AMAZING balloon installation outside near the trampoline, as well as above the girls' picnic. I mean, how could you miss it!? It was created by none other than the lovely team at Boutique Balloons!
HIRE: neon signs
And what tween (or adult?) doesn’t love a bit of neon? We hired these incred shapes from Little Pineapple Neon, who made the place pop with light!
To top off an amazing day, the girls once again changed outfits and posed in front of the photo booth in Seed Heritage for Teens and accessories. #GLAM much?
Love, LENZO x
