One of LENZO’s top tips for creating an #outofthisworld wedding is sourcing a showstopping venue. This is not always the easiest feat, with today’s brides looking for something trendy, Instagrammable, and totally unique…
If this sounds like you, Melbourne’s Museum Spaces might be the perfect fit for you and your big day. With four different locations that each boast numerous function spaces, we are sure that you will find the perfect place to say, 'I Do’!
Recently, we were lucky enough to shoot in four of their alternative wedding spaces, so make sure you keep scrolling to see what makes each venue distinctive and how you can transform them into the wedding of your #DREAMS!
Melbourne Museum – The North Terrace
The magical North Terrace space at Melbourne Museum acts as the perfect alternative wedding venue for those searching for sophistication. With beautiful views overlooking the historic Carlton Gardens, the North Terrace is a popular location for both wedding ceremonies and receptions.
To elevate the already luxurious space, we added in shades of gold, navy and white, with key features being the wire ceremony backdrop adorned with florals and the gold mirror bar, which effortlessly shimmered under the daylight.
Scienceworks – The Pumping Station
The Pumping Station at Scienceworks is a chic option for couples on the hunt for an industrial wedding venue in Melbourne. Filled with rich character from its surroundings of historical buildings, the Westgate Bridge, and an unprecedented view of the city’s skyline, Scienceworks truly is a unique venue that will have your guests oohing and ahhing as soon as they walk in!
For the styling, we really wanted to create a fun environment to mirror the quirkiness of the venue. We took cues from the red brick wall and injected a palette of pink, white and orange into the setting, and incorporated on-trend event elements, such as neon signage and bold blooms.
The Immigration Museum - The Courtyard
Love the hustle and the bustle of the city, and want to incorporate it into your big day? Then The Courtyard at The Immigration Museum may be the perfect place for you to glide down the aisle. Located in the heritage-listed Old Customs House, the venue is rich with culture and has an old-school romantic ambience about it, which we are totally #LOVING!
The Courtyard already screams #LUXE to us, so we wanted to create a botanical emporium in the concrete jungle setting. To do this, we added touches of gold, white, green and black through an abundance of potted plants, a greenery installation and fresh rattan furniture pieces.
Melbourne Museum – Kalaya
Kalaya is a natural-light filled space located within the Melbourne Museum. Known for its spiralling timber ramp and tree-like trunks that reach the ceiling, Kalaya is such a breathtaking space that requires little styling to make it #AMAZING!
With that in mind, we wanted to stay true to the sophisticated aura of Kalaya, and decided to organically drape blush and dusty pink material across each timber posts. We lined the aisle with candles placed upon rose gold mirrors, and moody floral arrangements that lead to the blossoming arbour.
